University student left starved for 24 hours says sorry to campus management [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: The university student who went viral for starving for 24 hours yesterday has apologised to the campus management for claiming that there was no food provided during the public holidays.

The student, who goes by the Tik Tok username Bayinuckal posted an apology video via his account.

In the video, he said: "I would like to sincerely apologise to the university management.

"This is because previously I had a misunderstanding. Even though the cafeterias on campus were closed, the university management has arranged plans for students who have financial issues or those facing difficulties in getting food supplies."

He added that the university had provided food and beverages for students but he was not made aware of it.

"For that reason, I would humbly like to apologise again for my misunderstanding towards the university management," he said.

A university student's emotional video went viral yesterday, in which he expressed disappointment with the campus management for closing the cafeterias and leaving him and other students to starve for 24 hours.

He claimed that the educational institution in Johor expected students to return after the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations to attend physical classes but the campus management failed to inform students that the cafeterias on campus would not be operational.

Through the New Straits Times checks, his prior post on the issue was deleted.
