Anwar: Malaysia reaffirms commitment, solidarity with Palestinians

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has reaffirmed its commitment and undivided solidarity with the Palestinian people in the fight against the imperialism of the Israeli apartheid Zionist regime that tramples on the principles on humanity.

On the 75th anniversary of the Nakba, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Malaysia strongly hold on to its stand of condemning Israel's illegal occupation of Palestinian territories and the suppression of the people of Palestine that prevented them from exercising their rights as legitimate and absolute citizens.

"Malaysia, as a member and vice chair of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP), which organise the Nakba memorial event, also urge the United Nations' Security Council to ensure that Israel is accountable to the obvious violence and the violation of the international laws and UN Charter every year," said Anwar in a statement on his Facebook page.

He said Malaysia also urged the international community to ensure an end to the suppression of the Palestinian people.

"The time has come for us to gather our strength with the aim of ending the injustice and bring about fairness and justice." said Anwar.
