KUALA LUMPUR: A woman claimed that the man who was filmed hurling abusive words and hitting a female driver's head in a video that had gone viral on social media had slapped a restaurant worker before the incident.
TikTok user @puthreess in a video, had claimed that the same man had slapped a restaurant worker in Cameron Highlands earlier.
"My family and I saw that the man (from the viral video) had slapped a worker at a restaurant as we were about to make an order.
"We had ignored the incident as we did not want to make a fuss. However, we later saw the man becoming angry again as he was about to make the payment and slapped another worker repeatedly."
She added that she had to tell off the man for slapping the worker.
"We had to intervene. We told the man to stop slapping the worker," she said.
Earlier, a 59-second video posted by Facebook user Aizacd Zack, showed a man clad in a red t-shirt getting out of his car, knocking on the driver's window and berating the female driver over her driving when she rolled down the window.
He was then seen hitting the driver's head more than once.
The man, who works as a factory supervisor in Serdang, was then detained by the police before being remanded for three days, starting June 7 until June 9.
Tapah District Police Chief Supt Wan Azharuddin Wan Ismail said the remand request for the suspect was made at the Tapah Magistrate's Court under Section 323/506/509 of the Penal Code.
