#NSTviral: Boy impresses tourist couple with his fluent English [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: A video of a young Malaysian Noah and his friend having an impressive conversation in English with a tourist couple during Merdeka celebration recently has gone viral, earning the boys compliments from netizens.

In the short video posted on TikTok by @disappear_for_days showed the couple Jacob and Emma having a chat with a 12-year-old boy and his friends who were attending the Merdeka Parade at Dataran Putrajaya for the first time.

In the video, Emma is also heard asking the boy about the celebration and whether it was his first time attending the parade. The boy's reply to the couple impressed them as he spoke fluent English with a British accent.

The couple is heard complimenting him for his proficiency and the boy goes on to add that his teacher in school also says he spoke good English. The boy is then heard telling the couple that he wants to visit England someday to taste fish and chips there.

The video posted two days ago has so far been viewed more than 24,000 times, received more than 700 comments on Tik Tok and was shared by more than 1,300 users.

Among the compliments Noah earned were from Betty Abas who said "Way to go, Noah. So proud of you."
