#NSTViral: Negri Sembilan deputy police chief's fatherly advice to young riders praised

SEREMBAN: Videos of Negri Sembilan deputy police chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Idzam Jaafar advising young motorcyclists have gone viral, earning widespread praise for his heartfelt approach.

The TikTok videos, originally posted by user Mimoszul on Jan 17, show Idzam counseling and reprimanding motorcyclists at the Senawang toll plaza during Op Khas Samseng Jalanan in December last year.

In the clips, Idzam appeals to the riders' sense of responsibility, urging them to consider their parents' sacrifices and feelings.

"Think about your parents. Remember how they cared for you when you were little," he said.

He asked the riders about their family, whether they had prayed, and if they could recite key Quranic verses.

Idzam also encouraged the motorcyclists to focus on their studies, stay home after 9pm, and spend quality time with their families.

Mimoszul captioned the videos: "These kids listened well to advice from Negri Sembilan deputy police chief Muhammad Idzam Jaafar. They're not bad kids, just a little naughty."

The deputy police chief's compassionate approach resonated with social media users, who lauded his fatherly demeanour.

"I would gladly take advice from a police officer, especially when he scolds like a father," wrote TikTok user Bébil.

"This hurts more than getting a summons," commented WalaNOS, while another user, superman, said, "This is the kind of police officer we need. Salute, sir."

On Facebook, where the videos were shared by Negri Sembilan Kini, user Sari Kejora described Idzam's actions as "a father advising his children."

Another user, Radnaksizm MY, remarked, "Today they might not remember it, but tomorrow or in the future, they will. Great rewards await those who guide others towards goodness."

Many commended Idzam's approach as an act of care.

"Advising is a sign of concern; it's not wrong but a responsibility among Muslims," wrote Mah Na.

User Berakit Ke Langit added, "Being advised is a blessing. At least it stirs the heart to realise mistakes. Remember your responsibilities."
