Nik Omar respects decision to disallow Tun M from visiting his father's grave

KOTA BARU: Nik Omar Nik Aziz said he respected the decision made by his family including his younger brother Nik Adli not to allow Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to visit his father’s grave.

The PKR candidate for the Chempaka state constituency said both he and Dr Mahahthir respected the decision.

“I will make a further statement on the issue after the election on May 9,” he told reporters after delivering his ceramah at Tun M Bersama Rakyat gathering in Cherang today.

Also present at the function was Dr Mahathir.

Earlier in his speech, Nik Omar said he did not mind being ‘used’ by certain individuals in the upcoming 14th General Election.

“People are saying that I am used by certain quarters but I replied to them that l accept it as long as it is for a good reason.”

The family of the late Kelantan Menteri locked the gate of the Kampung Pulau Melaka cemetery to prevent Langkawi candidate Dr Mahathir from visiting his grave today.

The move was done by Maahad Tahfiz and Pengajian Al-Quran Nik Matillah principal Fazilah Hakimi about 9.30am after receiving a directive from Nik Adli.
