Faizal Azumu believes experience will help him helm Youth and Sports Ministry

IPOH: Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu believes his vast experience in the youth movement will serve him well in his capacity as the new youth and sports minister.

The Tambun member of parliament said he is thankful to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob for the opportunity to serve via the ministry.

"It is an honour to be given this opportunity to serve all Malaysian youth. I am also grateful to be able to play a role in placing sports as a catalyst for unity and propel the country's name on the world stage," said the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia deputy president on his Facebook page today.

Faizal, who is also Chenderiang assemblyman, said his experience with the youth movement reinforces the view that youths are the lifeblood of the nation.

"The ministry has an important role to play in strengthening the 'Keluarga Malaysia' narrative of the prime minister.

"I am confident that in this challenging environment, the dedication and determination of the youth will be the driving force behind our resurgence.

"I am ready and will abide by the instructions that will be given from time to time and I will carry out my responsibilities effectively," he said.
