Non-Malay parties, opposition contributed to BN's downfall in GE14, says Hadi

KUALA LUMPUR: The downfall of Barisan Nasional (BN) in the last general election was not solely due to Umno alone, but also the coalition's non-Malay parties and the opposition, said Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.

"The weaknesses of BN, which caused its downfall, cannot be attributed to Umno alone.

"The blame should be placed on BN, together with the non-Malay parties such as MCA and MIC, as well as the opposition, especially the parties within Pakatan Harapan (PH).

"Together, they control the economy and are the biggest contributors to corruption and misconduct," he said in a Facebook post, as part of his Minda Presiden Pas posting titled 'Melayu Perkasa Bersama Islam'.

Hadi said Islam has asserted that the sin of the bribe-giver is bigger than the bribe-taker, although both parties are severely cursed.

"However, bribe givers were still spared from legal action, especially during PH's ruling for a short period."

Hadi also said that PH used the influence of the new media in which the sponsorship came from those who controlled the economy, from inside and outside the country, and it is being used to damage young Malay voters, which cannot be taken for granted.

"This is the arrival of a new coloniser in our homeland. (And) it is 'fardhu ain (religious obligation)' to wage political jihad to save the country and the Muslims.

"Therefore, the unity of the Muslims must be prioritised, before the participation of the non-Muslims, who are not extreme. It then will be combined in a pluralistic society to ensure justice for all, which is a very important concept of Islam."

In his post, Hadi also questioned former attorney-general Tan Sri Tommy Thomas, who had yet to explain several issues involving PH leaders, namely the royal pardon for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the dropping of the graft cases against Lim Guan Eng.
