KUALA LUMPUR: A number of Umno leaders arrived for the party's supreme council meeting this evening at Menara Dato Onn here.
This is the first supreme council meeting after the Parliament's dissolution.
Among them were Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Terengganu Umno liaison committee chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Said and Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.
Also present were supreme council members Datuk Seri Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, Datuk Dr Shaik Hussein Mydin and Datuk Seri Razali Ibrahim.
Members of the press had gathered at the premises since 7pm.
Late last month, the Umno supreme council decided that the 15th General Election (GE15) must be held this year.
Caretaker prime minister and Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced the dissolution of Parliament this afternoon.
