GE15: PKR names more than 70 candidates for parliamentary seats [UPDATED]

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR today announced the names of all but three of its candidates who will be contesting in parliamentary seats in the 15th General Election (GE15).

Party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the candidates for the three seats were expected to be finalised tomorrow.

As previously announced, Anwar will be heading to the Tambun parliamentary seat while his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail would be contesting in Bandar Tun Razak.

As expected, PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli will be making a comeback to the political arena by contesting the Pandan constituency, the seat he previously held from 2013 to 2018.

Among the big names announced included former education minister Dr Maszlee Malik, who will defend his Simpang Renggam seat.

Two PKR menteris besar will also take on parliamentary seats, with Negri Sembilan's Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun standing in Anwar's old constituency of Port Dickson, and Selangor's Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari set to take on ex-PKR deputy president and current Perikatan Nasional information chief Datuk Seri Azmin Ali in Gombak.

Other candidates announced so far are Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh in Ledang; Akmal Nasir (Johor Baru); Hassan Abdul Karim (Pasir Gudang); Rosnah Aluai (Tangga Batu); Adam Ali (Hang Tuah Jaya); Jufitri Joha (Rembau); William Leong (Selayang); Rodziah Ismail (Ampang); Abbas Awang (Bera); Wong Chen (Subang); Lee Chean Chung (Petaling Jaya); and, Datuk Abdullah Sani (Kapar).

Others are PKR information chief Fahmi Fadzil, who will defend his Lembah Pantai seat; Dr Noraishah Abdul Aziz (Putrajaya); Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim (Padang Rengas); Tan Kar Hing (Gopeng); Nik Omar Nik Abdul Aziz, son of the late Pas spiritual adviser (Pasir Salak); and, Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar, who will take on BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in Bagan Datuk.

Anwar and Dr Wan Azizah's daughter, Nurul Izzah, will defend her Permatang Pauh seat, while shockingly, Parti Amanah Negara ex-vice-president Datuk Husam Musa was named the PKR candidate for Pasir Mas. Party secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail will defend his Kulim Bandar Baru seat.

Others are: Chang Lih Kang (Tanjung Malim); Fadhlina Sidek (Nibong Tebal); Sim Tze Tzin (Bayan Baru); Dr Azman Ismail (Kuala Kedah); Dr Taufiq Johari (Sungai Petani); Fathin Amelina Fazlie (Arau); and, Noor Amin Ahmad (Kangar).

The last few names announced were Asharun Uji (Gua Musang); Zuraidi Ismail (Indera Mahkota); Fuziah Salleh (Kuantan); and, Mohd Naim Zainal Abidin (Pekan).
