GE15: Don't dream the impossible, Bersatu tells Anwar

ALOR STAR: Perikatan Nasional (PN) is not intimidated by Pakatan Harapan's move to field 'heavyweight candidates' in Perak.

PN deputy chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu said the coalition has full confidence in its candidates to face PH in Perak.

"Perhaps to them (PH), the candidates are 'heavyweights' but to us, they are just like any others," he told reporters after launching Kedah PN general election machinery at state Pas Complex in Kota Sarang Semut here last night.

Faizal, who is also the Perak PN chairman and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) deputy president was responding to PH move to field its chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Nik Omar Nik Aziz and Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin to contest for parliamentary seats in the state.

In a related matter, Faizal who is defending the Tambun parliamentary seat against Anwar, urged the PKR president to be realistic over the dream to become the next prime minister.

He asked whether rumours that Anwar was hoping to get the support from Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to fulfil his wish for the premier's post were true.

"Yes, he is the prime minister candidate for PH. In order the appointed as the PM, Pakatan will have to form the government first.

"But is it true that he is counting on the support of the Umno president to be appointed as the PM? So, it is up to him," he said.

"Everyone can have a dream, but the dream must be something realistic. It seems that he is counting on the dream to work with Umno president to fulfil his wish to be appointed as the PM, to become a reality," he said.
