TAMBUN: Former PKR vice-president Chua Tian Chang, better known as Tian Chua, is facing the sack after he decided to run for the Batu parliamentary seat as an independent candidate.
PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim expressed his disappointment with Tian Chua's nomination this morning, describing it as an "unfortunate" incident.
As one of the early party reformists, Anwar said, Tian Chua should know better than to double-cross the party by nominating himself as an independent candidate.
Therefore, Anwar, who is also Pakatan Harapan chairman, said any party member who contested as an independent candidate in the 15th General Election would be automatically dismissed.
Earlier, it was reported that Tian Chua entered the Batu nomination centre here this morning in his bid to recapture the seat that he won in 2008 and 2013.
