GE15: No fear in facing Hasni, Simpang Renggam candidates say

KLUANG: Locked in a four-corner contest against former Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad for the Simpang Renggam seat, two of the candidates said they will give him a tough fight.

Dr Maszlee Malik, who is defending the seat, said candidates need to celebrate the democratic trend and anybody contesting has to be a gentleman and respect every possibility.

"We are not only bringing in the party agenda but also focussing on the people's agenda and ensuring that the country is free from corruption and the children's education is assured," he said when asked about the challenge in facing the BN candidate.

Pejuang candidate Kamal Kusmin said he was excited by his first participation in a general election and that he was facing two big names in Malaysian politics.

"The BN candidate is a former menteri besar while the PH candidate is defending the seat. The Perikatan Nasional candidate (Mohd Fazrul Kamat) is also a local lad although he is contesting for the first time, so I cannot take them lightly," said Kamal.

He said this will not stop him from giving his best in efforts to win the seat.
