GE15: Rafizi believes PH can win 85 seats

JOHOR BARU: Pakatan Harapan (PH) is in a good position to form a government after the 15th General Election (GE15), said PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli.

Speaking to a crowd at a coffee shop in Taman Sri Tebrau, here, to rally support for PH parliamentary candidates Akmal Nasrullah Nasir for Johor Baru and Jimmy Puah of Tebrau, he said he was travelling from Segamat in northern Johor when he noticed that Barisan Nasional (BN) had yet to put up flags.

He said BN was not very confident about this GE15, and its campaign appeared hamstrung by lack of funds.

Rafizi claimed PH might win at least 85 seats.

"We are exactly at the same support level as it was four years ago going into the election," he said.

Rafizi said social media played an important role and felt PH had a stronger online presence.

He said no party would win a simple majority but PH would get the largest bloc in Parliament.

"If we can push for 90 seats then we just need to get a coalition from Sarawak based parties to form the next government, he said.

He said he understood how some Johoreans felt about the state election eight months ago.

It was then the state election and people felts differently now and have seen for themselves.

"Even though we lost the state elections the people want us to work even harder and perform well at Parliament," he iterated.

He urged parties contesting not to play up or touch on racial issues.

We need to move forward to build this country together, he said.

If Malaysia wants to grow its economy, we need to compete with some bigger nations, he remarked.

He also stressed that the countrys currency was further plummeting and this needed to be looked at seriously .
