Anwar: They want to 'kill me' in Tambun but have yet to dig the grave

PASIR SALAK: Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has dismissed his detractors claim that a loss in Tambun in the 15th General Election (GE15) would spell the end of his political career.

He said his opponents would not find the going easy and that he would do his best to capture the parliamentary seat.

"Tonight I'll be in Tambun. I will try my best. If they intend to kill my (political) career (in Tambun), it won't be easy because the grave has yet to be dug," he said.

Anwar was speaking to reporters while on the campaign trail in Kampung Pulau Gajah here, today.

Anwar, who is PKR president, also believed that PH naming him as its prime minister candidate has helped the coalition's campaign.

"This is because voters are comparing me with Muhyiddin (Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin), who failed to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic and development, as well as Ismail (Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri) who isn't able to diversify the economy," he said.

Asked to comment on Barisal Nasional and Perikatan Nasional's belief that they could secure the majority in GE15, he said confidence must be backed by data.

"They are confident, we are also confident. Our confidence is based on data and research at particular areas...(based on our findings) I don't think anyone can deny that PH is far ahead in the lead," he said.
