Rafizi: BN is out to discredit me

JOHOR BARU: PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli has accused Barisan Nasional (BN) of attempting to discredit him in recent weeks as a way of invalidating his recent claims about government projects.

Rafizi claimed that BN used the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to carry this out.

"BN doesn't know what else to do," FMT quoted him as saying at a ceramah in Larkin last night, commenting on the coalition's reaction to his recent disclosures.

"So they sent MACC to my office and interrogated my staff for two days."

Rafizi had, on Wednesday, claimed that MACC had raided his data firm, Invoke Solutions Sdn Bhd. It was the second raid within 24 hours.

The Pandan candidate said interrogation was not a problem for him since he was used to going "in and out of lock-up".

Rafizi had also accused MACC of bullying, after the agency interrogated his staff for eight hours.

He claimed that BN wanted "ammunition" because it knew it would lose.

"Because I am on the frontline of (the Pakatan Harapan) election campaign against Umno, BN and Perikatan Nasional, I understand the motive of this investigation," he said.

Last week, it was reported that MACC was investigating Rafizi's assets, following a report urging the agency to investigate Invoke.

Rafizi had declared RM18,851,350 in net assets as of Oct 31.

Recently, he claimed the environment and water ministry awarded a RM2 billion project through direct negotiations to an Umno-linked company.

He also claimed that a businessman linked to the MySejahtera app was behind a firm receiving payments for technical services in the Littoral Combat Ship project.
