GE15: 6,126 polling stations for 3.6 million voters in Selangor

SHAH ALAM: A total of 3,652,790 voters will be casting their ballots at 6,126 polling stations to elect 22 members of Parliament in the state in the 15th General Election (GE15) tomorrow.

The polling stations involve primary and secondary schools, public halls, and halls under the purview of the local councils in the state.

Checks at Dewan Tanjung in Seksyen 19, here today, saw the briefing session and ballot boxes inspections for Shah Alam parliamentary seat (P108) went smoothly with the officers already taking the necessary equipment to take to their respective polling stations.

Meanwhile, Shah Alam police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal reminded the voters to take the opportunity to come early to cast their ballots.

"Please come to cast your votes as early as possible as the polling stations open at 8am and close at 6pm," he told reporters when met at the hall.

P108 Shah Alam returning officer Asmah Mohd Zin suggested that the media personnel come after 6pm.

"We hope for a smooth process with no commotion at any polling station as it could disrupt the next process.

"The media is encouraged to come after 6pm for coverage, as the ballot boxes are expected to arrive as early as 7.30pm after the polling centres close at 6pm."
