GE15: PH, PKR lodge police reports against Muhyiddin over Christianisation, Jewish support claims

KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan (PH) today lodged a police report in relation to a viral video which showed Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin alleging that Jews were supporting Pakatan Harapan and that the Malays are being proselytised at churches in the country.

The report was lodged by PH strategic director Bryan Ng and PKR Youth communications director Syaril Showkat Ali at the Dang Wangi police headquarters.

Both Ng and Syaril had in their reports urged the police to initiate investigations and take appropriate action, saying that Muhyiddin's remarks had malicious intent to fan racism.

In the police reports, they stated that they watched the TikTok video uploaded by @Phan.Fiz with the title "Awas agenda Kristianasasi, jika kita lalai… Mereka telah lama merancang", yesterday.

"Muhyiddin had said that voting for PH is dangerous because the coalition sponsors the Jewish movement and will lead to Christianisation in the country.

"This is a baseless accusation and had touched on religious sensitivities," the report read.

Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Dellhan Yahaya, when contacted, confirmed the reports.

"The reports were lodged in Dang Wangi but further action will be taken by the Gombak and Petaling Jaya police headquarters, respectively, because the complainants watched the video on social media at their homes, one in Selayang and one in Damansara," he told the New Straits Times.

In the viral video, Muhyiddin had urged people not to vote for PH as the coalition is sponsoring Jews and Christians, and that it would lead to Christianisation in the country.

He also claimed that Christianisation has been happening in the country and that Malays were spotted going to churches on Sunday.

Earlier, PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli said at a press conference that the party would lodge a police report against Muhyiddin. PKR, he added, would also file an election petition in Pagoh on the matter after the 15th General Election concludes.

Following Muhyiddin's remarks, the Council of Churches Malaysia lambasted the former prime minister, saying that such statements could create racial and religious tension and strife.
