'Reformasi' begins now, says Shamsul Iskandar

KAJANG: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's appointment as the 10th prime minister will be the beginning of "reformasi".

Former Hang Tuah Jaya member of parliament Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin said this was long-awaited by supporters and members.

"Hopefully, any leadership disputes that we are facing can be settled under the new prime minister.

"Thank you to everyone for all the prayers and support and we hope that you all remain calm as we need to work together in restoring the country.

"I believe the prime minister has his formula for achieving unity," he said when met in front of Anwar's residence in Sungai Long, here.

Shamsul said the country had faced many crises after the pandemic.

"Natural disasters have also been occurring which is why everyone needs to unite under Anwar's leadership to think of a solution. This is a meaningful moment indeed," he said.
