KUALA LUMPUR: The election of the Dewan Rakyat Speaker is the first item on the agenda when the lower house of Parliament convenes on Dec 19.
Tan Sri Azhar Azizan Harun is the current Dewan Rakyat Speaker.
In a notice on the sitting issued to members of parliament, Dewan Rakyat secretary Nizam Mydin Bacha Mydin stated that the swearing-in of new MPs would be the next item on the agenda.
MPs will then vote on the new deputy speakers of the Dewan Rakyat, FMT reported.
