Morally bankrupt cabinet: Bersatu urges voters in Tioman, Padang Serai to punish PH, BN

GEORGE TOWN: The announcement on the formation of the cabinet tonight was not surprising, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia said.

Bersatu information chief Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan said the "rotten" government, led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, had truly became morally bankrupt when the "court cluster", which had been greedy with corruption and power abuse, was appointed to the cabinet.

He said the cabinet line-up was an attempt to fool the people.

Wan Saiful added that the people had sent a clear message in the 15th General Election (GE15) that they wanted a political leadership and national administration that "puts the interests of the people first, elevates moral values, integrity and accountability above any personal interest".

"Instead, Anwar has thrown all moral values, principles, integrity and accountability into the bin for the sake of power and the throne.

"This is a clear proof that Anwar is a politician whose goal is to legitimate the means, who is willing to pawn anything for power.

"I consider this an attempt by Anwar to purify the court cluster. I am increasingly worried if trial cases involving the court cluster will be disrupted.

"I feel sorry for voters who voted for Pakatan Harapan (PH) as it has been proven that they voted for PH and in the end got Zahid Hamidi (Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi). Where did the reform struggle go?" he said in his latest posting on Facebook.

Wan Saiful said he also felt sorry for Umno-Barisan Nasional (BN) voters because all their cries had been sold so cheaply by Zahid, who only wanted to save himself.

He further questioned if Umno was still relevant today.

Wan Saiful said all this proves that only Perikatan Nasional (PN) was qualified to talk about principles and morals.

"We are willing to be a dignified opposition rather than beg for power until we are forced to pawn our principles.

"To the people, this rotten government which contains corruptors, bandits, the court cluster and those who are vindictive towards public servants, needs to be severely punished by rejecting PH-BN candidates in the Tioman state seat and the Padang Serai parliament seat on polling day on Dec 7.

"At a time when PH-BN is morally bankrupt, PN is the only hope for Malaysians. As such, come on voters in Tioman and Padang Serai.

"For the sake of the country, don't waste this opportunity," he said.

Earlier tonight, Anwar announced his cabinet line-up.

He named Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chief whip Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof as the deputy prime ministers for the country's first unity government.
