Hadi claims unity govt is fragile, lacks majority

KUALA LUMPUR: The unity government of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is fragile as it lacks the necessary parliamentary majority, said Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.

In addition, he alleged the cabinet also included those described by Pakatan Harapan leaders as "robbers and bandits".

"Such people are appointed as ministers. This is what happened. We need to be patient. This is a test from Allah SWT upon us," he said at an appreciation dinner for Terengganu Perikatan Nasional volunteers.

The Marang Member of Parliament's remarks came after two Deputy Prime Ministers and 25 ministers of the unity government took their oath of office yesterday.

Advising Pas members to heed the example of Prophet Muhammad's struggles to enter Makkah, Hadi said the Prophet had received a revelation about taking control of the city but was tested when he was prevented from entering the city as it was blocked.

It was only after several years that he finally managed to enter the city and free it from the control of polytheists, he said.

"Let us take an example from the struggles of the Prophet in our efforts to uphold Islamic shariah in Malaysia," he said.
