Muhyiddin should now concentrate on becoming opposition leader - PKR Youth chief

KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, as one of the main leaders of a political coalition, should move on and focus on solving issues faced by the people, a PKR leader said.

PKR Youth chief Adam Adli Abd Halim said it was as if the former prime minister had no other political ammunition but to comment about the 15th General Election (GE15) to attack the government.

He told Berita Harian that Muhyiddin should stop doing so as it would only be seen as him being unsatisfied with the results of the recently concluded polls.

"GE15 is over, you don't need to come up with political attacks through statements. This just shows that he has no other idea.

"The government now has since moved on and in the past week, focused on solving issues of the people such as the cost of living, daily needs and basic necessities."

Adam was commenting on Muhyiddin's statement claiming that Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional had committed the "biggest electoral fraud" in GE15.

Muhyiddin, who is also Perikatan Nasional chairman, said his coalition's performance in the Padang Serai and Tioman elections was proof that the people do not agree with the PH-BN pact.

Adam also reminded Muhyiddin that the unity government was formed on the decree of the King, which he had declined to be part of.

He said Muhyiddin must now pay attention to becoming the opposition leader, and not issue statements that would not bring any benefit to the people.

"Help the government by giving constructive criticism, not political attacks and keeping quiet when discussing the people's real issues," he added.
