Pas sympathises with Annuar Musa

KOTA BARU: The dismissal of Ketereh Umno division chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa from Umno was not a suprise move, said Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan.

He said the party had somewhat expected that Annuar would be sacked from Umno.

"The action taken against Annuar has been expected, but Pas is however shocked with the attitude of certain Umno leaders against their own members.

"It looked like they do not want to win. Pas really sympathises with Umno members and it seems that they have been 'played' by the leaders.

"Their leaders had previously been shouting 'No Anwar, No DAP', but apparently it has changed to 'No Annuar Musa'," said Takiyuddin.

The Kota Baru MP said Pas welcomed anyone who wants to join the party regardless of their leadership level.

"Pas has been receiving nearly 4,000 new applications for membership every month and a majority of them are young people," he said.

Umno yesterday confirmed Annuar was one of the three party leaders sacked during its recent supreme council meeting.

Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said Umno supreme council under clause 10.6 of the party constitution had the right to terminate any of its members.

The two other members sacked were Arau Wanita chief and wife of Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim, Datin Seri Shamsiah Md Yassin, and also Maran Wanita chief Datin Seri Fatimah Kassim, who is the wife of Maran MP Datuk Seri Ismail Muttalib.
