'It's like being buried alive,' says Annuar Musa on his sacking from Umno

KOTA BARU: Tan Sri Annuar Musa said he only found out about his sacking as an Umno member through social media when he was in the office at about 11pm yesterday.

At that time, the former head of Umno Ketereh division said he was also removed from the WhatsApp group of the Head of Communications.

"To date, I have not received an official letter regarding my dismissal. I don't know why I was expelled from Umno since I didn't do anything wrong.

"Umno Rantau Panjang division head (Akbar Salim) knew early on and I was also removed directly from the WhatsApp group.

"Apparently, this is the way it goes in politics. It's like you don't have time to die, but have to be buried (umpama tidak sempat mati tetapi kena tanam.). I've served Umno well for 43 years and I want to leave well," he said.

He said this today at the Special Meeting of Umno Branch Leaders of Ketereh Parliament at the Kelantan Poverty Foundation Complex, Padang Kala.

Annuar, who is also the former Umno secretary-general, said his termination was like breaking a record because he was dismissed without prior notice.

"I broke the record because I was fired without being called and informed in advance, including through the Umno disciplinary board. It is as if the judge decided to punish me right away.

"Previously, I was fired as Umno secretary-general and I just smiled. I was also not chosen to contest the 15th General Election (GE15).

"I would like to thank you. Although I am no longer an Umno member, I want Ketereh Umno members to continue to fight for the party," he said.

Umno supreme council yesterday said its leaders Tan Sri Annuar Musa, Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim's wife Datin Seri Shamsiah Md Yassin, who was also Arau Wanita chief, and Datuk Seri Ismail Abd Muttalib's wife, Maran Wanita chief Datin Seri Fatimah Kassim have been sacked from the party.
