Sng is behaving immaturely, fails to think rationally in managing PBM - Zuraida

KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) president Larry Sng is behaving immaturely, is arrogant and has failed to think rationally in managing the party, former Ampang member of parliament Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin said.

The former Plantation and Commodities Minister's membership in PBM which was suspended in October, also slammed Sng for previously issuing threats to other party leaders.

She said as a democratic party, Sng should first discuss with PBM leaders before making any decision.

"Unfortunately, all of this happened after my team and I brought PBM up since its inception by adding its strength through the presence of Penggerak Komuniti Negara with the agreement that the party leadership will immediately be handed over to me once I join the party.

"This matter was also approved through a motion during the party's annual general assembly but after GE15, Sng appears to have broken his promise without feeling any shame for abusing his position to stay in power and rejecting the voices of the majority of PBM members," she said in a statement today.

Yesterday, Sng said he had issued show-cause letters to Zuraida and several PBM supreme council members following their failure to attend a party meeting last week. They are given until Monday to respond.

Sng said failure to respond would result in their dismissal from PBM.

On Oct 28, Sng announced the suspension of Zuraida and 12 other supreme council members after they were alleged to have caused disturbance within the party and its leadership.

Previously, the PBM internal fights made headlines when Sng said he was still party president and had never vacated the position for Zuraida to replace him.

Nevertheless, Zuraida said she would leave the matter to PBM members and the Registrar of Societies for further action.

The former cabinet member said she would continue to serve in strengthening the nation-building agenda through her existing capacities at the global, local and community levels, including welfare and social activities.

"My work and aspirations to bring a progressive agenda for the people of Malaysia will also be continued and implemented through various platforms, especially through the Pertubuhan Penggerak Komuniti Negara which I founded in 2017, and is now part of Muafakat Nasional (MN)."
