KUALA LUMPUR: Simpang Renggam member of parliament Datuk Seri Hasni Mohamed has been dropped as the Johor Umno liaison committee chairman.
Sources said Hasni is being replaced by Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, who is also the Kota Tinggi MP.
They said the decision to replace Hasni with Khaled was made during the Umno Supreme Council meeting chaired by party president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on Friday night.
The same party insider, however, could not confirm if Hasni, who is the former Johor Menteri Besar, was also among the many Umno leaders suspended or sacked from the party.
