A disappointed KJ says Umno sacked him unilaterally

KUALA LUMPUR: Khairy Jamaluddin expressed his disappointment that Umno unilaterally sacked him despite his loyalty to the party for over two decades.

The former Umno Youth Chief and ex-Rembau member of parliament said he was not provided with a proper hearing or issued a show cause letter before he was booted out of the party.

"Confirmed no due process. No show cause letter, no disciplinary hearing. Summarily and unilaterally sacked from a party I have been loyal to for 23 years," he wrote on his Instagram story today.

Khairy was sacked from the party for "violating party discipline."

Umno last night confirmed that Khairy and party Supreme Working Committee member Tan Sri Noh Omar had been sacked from the party.

Umno had also suspended Sembrong member of parliament Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, ex-Umno information chief Shahril Sufian Hamdan, Tebrau Umno division chief Datuk Maulizan Bujang and Jempol Umno division chief Datuk Seri Mohd Salim Shariff from the party for six years.
