PUTRAJAYA: Former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is confident that his supporters will not resort to violence in response to recent developments on the Jana Wibawa scandal.
Perikatan Nasional chairman and Pagoh member of parliament said the party was a peaceful one, always striving to ensure stability in the country.
"We do not want to follow in the footsteps of (Prime Minister Datuk Seri) Anwar Ibrahim during the 'Reformasi' days.
"Even when people are facing difficulties or hardships, it is not the right thing to do (choose violence)," he said.
Muhyiddin thanked his supporters who turned up earlier today at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters.
When asked if he was pressured during the nine-hour long interrogation, he said the process was conducted respectfully.
"It was long because investigation officers were looking at the allegations one by one for their own recordings.
Muhyiddin is set to be charged with seven offences in Kuala Lumpur court tomorrow, and in Shah Alam court on March 13.
