Tajuddin denied entry into Pasir Salak Umno meeting

PASIR SALAK: A commotion broke out during the Pasir Salak Umno division meeting when former Pasir Salak member of parliament Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman was denied entry.

Tajuddin, who arrived at the meeting venue at Dewan Besar Bandar Baru Felcra Seberang Perak at 9.50am, was allegedly stopped at the main gate by security personnel because his Umno membership had been suspended.

He then left the building's compound and waited in a car parked outside the hall area.

"I love Umno. I have been loyal. I have been in the party for 50 years.

"Arrogant. A former Pasir Salak Umno division chief has been denied entry. This has never happened before," said Tajuddin when contacted by the New Straits Times today.

When asked why he was denied entry, Tajuddin said: "Silence. No reason was given."

Tajuddin's eldest son, Dr Faizal Tajuddin, is running for the Pasir Salak Umno division chief post in the party election today. He will face former deputy division chief Khairul Azwan Harun, or better known as AzwanBro.

On March 12, Tajuddin's daughter, Datin Sri Rahayu Tajuddin, was elected Pasir Salak Wanita Umno chief after defeating incumbent Datuk Dr Wan Norashikin Wan Noordin during the party's wings election.

On Jan 5, Tajuddin's appeal to overturn his six-year suspension from the party was rejected.

Umno suspended Tajuddin in October last year and he was not chosen to defend the Pasir Salak parliamentary seat in the 15th General Election a month later.

In June last year, Tajuddin was sacked from the party's supreme council. In July, he was dropped as Malaysia's ambassador to Indonesia.
