Pas: Annuar Musa welcome to join us if he wants

SERDANG: Pas is open to former Umno secretary-general Tan Sri Annuar Musa joining the party.

This as rumours began circulating that the former Ketereh member of parliament intended to become a Pas member after Hari Raya.

Pas vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri said Annuar and other leaders would be welcomed should they choose to apply for party membership.

"He or anyone who doesn't belong to any party at the moment, those who are disappointed with how their fights have been up to now, they are more than welcome. This is because everyone has a role to play in Pas, whether as leaders or individuals.

"I believe that experienced people like Annuar and others have an important role to play to strengthen the party," he said after a breaking of fast event organised by the Terengganu government at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang on Saturday.

Present were Terengganu Secretary Tengku Seri Bijaya Raja and members of the state executive council.

Samsuri, who is Terengganu menteri besar, said several other experienced politicians were expected to join Pas soon, but added that he could not reveal their names just yet.

Annuar, who was a minister in the federal administration under then Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, was not named in the Barisan Nasional lineup for the 15th General Election in November, saying he was not even consulted before being dropped.

Then, in December, he was sacked from Umno, ostensibly for sabotaging the party.
