Sanusi to Guan Eng: What's with the police report, just counter Hadi's statement

ALOR STAR: Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor today chided DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng for urging the people to lodge a police report against Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang to end divisive, extremist and racial politics.

Sanusi, who is also national Pas and Perikatan Nasional election director said Lim should have just responded to Hadi through political statements instead of dragging the police along.

"Things that are related to political statements should be just resolved in a political platform, just issue counter statements. That is what politics is all about.

"If he wants to settle political scores via the police, taking things to court, might as well not become a politician," he told reporters after attending Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House hosted by Kumpulan Bina Darulaman Bhd here today.

Sanusi was responding to Lim's statement yesterday calling for the people to lodge a police report against Hadi to end divisive, extremist and racial politics.

Lim claimed that Hadi's brand of politics was a threat to national unity and integration.

Sanusi went on refuting Lim's claims that Hadi was playing divisive and racial politics.

"It is the foundation of all political parties in the country, in reality they are based on race, so what is there to deny?

"All parties have been like that ever since they were established. MIC for the Indians, MCA for Chinese, Umno for Malays, Pas for Islam. That is the foundation.

"DAP is a Chinese chauvinist, Chinese extremist party. That is its struggle. Just study the Setapak Declaration when the party was formed. That is DAP.

"Hence, what is there to deny?" he said while telling Lim not to pretend that he did not practise racial politics.

Sanusi also took a dig at Parti Amanah Nasional president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu for suggesting that Pas would be reuniting with DAP to form a political alliance in the near future.

"He likes to daydream and hallucinate. That is Mat Sabu," he said, referring to Mohamad who is also popularly known as Mat Sabu.

In a ceramah in Pendang recently, Mohamad said he would not be surprised if Pas would return to cooperate with DAP, its former ally in the opposition front.

He said this was based on Pas' history of willing to work with any party for its own political survival.
