Youths must seek new career options

LETTER: WE can see three focuses in the 2021 Budget: the wellbeing of the people, business continuity and economic sustainability.

Since we are living under the new norms, it would be good if the government continues to introduce financial incentives and programmes for the youth to boost their marketability.

If incentive programmes can be diversified, they might create new opportunities, including a new industry. For example, not many people know about being a booktuber, referring to one who review books. This can be a career option.

One example is Hafiz Latiff, the founder of Booktube Malaysia. Some booktubers from Malaysia and Indonesia are earning an income from reviewing books on social media.

A good reason for establishing this community is to boost the book industry in the country.
