Be a Team Malaysia member and fight the pandemic

LETTER: Several weeks back, Malaysia seems to be winning the war against Covid 19, testimony of the decreasing numbers of Covid-19 cases and deaths.

I was and am confident all Malaysians too were so relieved when the country, through the strategic leadership of our Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers and advisories from highly respected Health director-general Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah.

It has seemed that the Health Ministry and National Security Council had succeeded in containing Covid-19 in Malaysia. I had written on how Malaysia measured up in this fight against Covid-19 to share Malaysia's prescription for success.

Furthermore, we were happy when MCO was relaxed, allowing Malaysians to have a little more freedom to meet relatives and dine outside with family members and friends after a long period of isolation at home following strict SOP rules and guidelines.

Sadly, our Covid-19 cases and deaths experience a sudden great increase alarming and worrying many of us. We kept receiving increasing alarming figures of covid cases and deaths till it reached the highest of above 3,000 cases.

We are praying for Malaysia not to lose out to this war and hope there will be faster recovery and if possible no more deaths so that no one will need to lose their loved ones to this pandemic.

Alas, our news are now also filled with politics, of parties making changes to their original pledges thus causing disruptions in the Government's stability. This saddens us as we know that in order to fight the pandemic, all Malaysians including politicians must be united.

Thus I would like to appeal to all Malaysians, especially politicians to think of the rakyats' health and safety first and to think and strategise on how best Malaysia can fight and overcome this pandemic.

Respected Ministers and Deputy Ministers, Parliamentarians, YB's, please kindly remember the tremendous sadness and heartaches of families who have lost their loved ones to this terrible pandemic.

I would like to appeal to all to please unite to fight Covid-19 as Team Malaysia for the benefit of the rakyat and our country
