Going to the movies is safe, fun and exciting

LETTERS: I have a big TV with a home theatre system, but nothing beats watching movies at the cineplex.

The wide huge screen with surround sound system makes your day.

Watching movies at the cineplex with a family is not cheap. A ticket costs between RM18 and RM20.

GSC charges senior citizens RM10 per ticket for all shows, while TGV gives senior citizens discounted tickets only for morning shows.

Today, despite cineplexes facing many challenges, they are surviving and making a comeback after Covid-19.

Cineplexes give you an unforgettable movie-watching experience for a couple of hours. Some Tamil and Hindi movies run for 2 hours and 50 minutes.

And English movies, which used to be around 90 minutes, have jumped on the bandwagon and now run for more than two hours.

Movie watching at the cinemas is a safe experience for families with the Film Censorship Board as an entrusted guardian. Hopefully, the authorities will look into the "no cinema policy" in Kelantan, which has banned cinemas for more than 32 years.

Moviegoers there travel to neighbouring states to watch movies in cinemas.

The state government has equated the cinema house as an immoral place where the sexes commit immoral activities. Perhaps they can have the lights on and make the sexes sit in different sides of the hall. Have a heart for the young in Kelantan.

Going to the movies is fun and adds spice to life. It is an escape from the humdrum of life.
