KAJANG: S P Setia Bhd expects higher property sales this year, partly led by Setia i-Home, which entails including sustainable elements in all of its forthcoming landed homes.
Setia i-Home, according to executive vice president Datuk Tan Hon Lim, symbolises the company's dedication to stepping up its efforts in the environmental, social, and governance areas in order to attain net zero by 2050.
"As sustainable living has become more critical, it is important for us to embrace new technology that helps us minimise our impact on the environment,"' he said.
According to him, SP Setia will include a smart home system in its next launch that will enable users to manage their energy use by managing a number of switches and power plugs via a mobile app.
"Our latest collection of smart and sustainable home elements will be featured in our new landed homes. This includes solar for the more expensive homes," Tan said.
Setia Ecohill 2, Setia Mayuri, Setia Tropika, Setia Alamsari, Setia Fontaines, Setia Alam Impian, Bandar Kinrara, Setia Eco Templer, Setia Warisan Tropika, and Setia Eco Gardens are some of the company's popular landed products.
Tan said that the cost to the company to put up the Setia i-Home features will range from RM5,000 for homes under RM500,000 to RM25,000 for landed properties over RM1.5 million.
Additionally, he said that costs for all planned residential land-based developments will remain essentially unchanged.
"With this approach, we estimate that home prices will increase by less than one per cent. It's very minimal, and there are long-term benefits for the homeowners," he said.
Tan said Setia i-Home properties will also feature a green switch, enabling residents to switch off all appliances with one touch upon exiting the house, further reducing energy consumption.
Additionally, the properties will come equipped with an electronic vehicle (EV) charging port, with the option for residents to install an EV charging connector to provide power supply to EVs.
