For those who miss the boat to Finland, Denmark...

"There will always be another shot for them."

That was BAM coaching director Wong Choong Hann's message to those not selected for the Thomas, Uber and Sudirman Cups.

He said the players, who missed out on the three team events, will have their opportunity next time.

BAM have opted for a largely young and inexperienced squad for the Sudirman Cup (Sept 26-Oct 3) in Finland and the Thomas and Uber Cup Finals (Oct 9-17) in Denmark.

BAM also took into account the internal ranking competition results last week especially in choosing newcomers Ng Tze Yong and Aidil Sholeh Ali Sadikin who finished first and second respectively.

"For those who were not selected, it just means they are not ready yet although there is always an opportunity for them next time," said Choong Haan.

Urging those selected to learn from the experience, Choong Hann said: "Under normal circumstances, these young players would not have an opportunity to observe or compete against top players from other countries.

"They now have this golden opportunity because we're trying to push the next generation.

"So, they should make the best of it."

Choong Hann said former world junior champion Goh Jin Wei was not included in the Sudirman Cup squad because she was not physically ready.

"She's not at a 100 per cent, so we've decided to keep her back a little longer so that she can be ready for the Uber Cup instead."
