KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians love to complain because they love the country, Datuk Lee Chong Wei said.
In a Facebook post to celebrate Malaysia Day, the former world number one badminton player said this was because Malaysians care about the goings-on in the country.
"Malaysians love to complain. We like to find faults. But don't you guys think (that) it's because the more you love the more you hate. The more you care the more you will complain.
"Anyone born in Malaysia, deep inside him or her will know Malaysia is (their) real home.
"I received offers to coach overseas, huge offers, but I stayed. Malaysia is much better, I love Malaysia, Happy Malaysia Day."
The former Olympian also revealed that his wife, Wong Mew Choo, is pregnant with their third child.
"Side note, because we love our country so much, we have added another Malaysian! I hope all will pray for a smooth pregnancy for Mew Choo."
