KUALA LUMPUR: Independent pair Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai made it to the mixed doubles semi-finals of the Badminton Asia Championships in Dubai following a thrilling win over Indonesia's Rinov Rivaldy-Pitha Haningtyas Mentari today.
The world No 8 won 21-15, 15-19, 21-19 and will face Zheng Si Wei-Huang Ya Qiong of China or Indonesia's Praveen Jordan-Melati Daeva Oktavianti tomorrow.
Soon Huat-Shevon will be bidding to reach their second final of the year after finishing runners-up at the Swiss Open last month.
