PUTRAJAYA: No further action will be taken against the high-ranking Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) official who was initially probed by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
Its chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said a full report on the investigations will be sent to the Youth and Sports Ministry and BAM.
"There were some issues related to governance found during our investigation (into the case).
"It will be detailed in the report," he told reporters today.
It was reported in December that the MACC had taken statements from six people over its graft probe involving a high-ranking BAM official.
Azam stressed that the probe was only concerning one individual and not the entity.
On Dec 3, it was reported that MACC had launched a graft probe into a high-ranking BAM official.A week earlier MACC investigators visited the Academy Badminton Malaysia.
BAM secretary-general Datuk Kenny Goh had confirmed the matter.
"They (MACC officers) wanted to check some files.
According to a credible source, a poison pen letter was sent to MACC, alleging that a high-ranking officer from BAM had been receiving an allowance without approval from the BAM council.
The source said five officers from MACC were present at the BAM headquarters in Bukit Kiara on Nov 26 to examine several documents as part of their investigation.
