PJ City FC do not intend to sign a foreign striker despite losing their top marksman, Darren Lok, to injury recently.
Darren, who has scored three goals, is recovering from a hairline leg fracture, which he sustained in the 3-1 defeat to Kedah on March 17.
PJ City, who are seventh in the 12-team Super League with 10 points, are winless in their last three games.
Despite the setback, the club have no plans to sign foreign players during the midseason transfer window on May 3-31.
PJ City chief executive officer S. Ganesh said they will maintain their all-local line up.
"Darren's injury ended up being much more serious than we first expected," said Ganesh.
"The tackle from Kedah's Rodney Celvin has left Darren with a hairline fracture. Darren will have to rest until it heals.
"Rodney was not even punished for the tackle.
"There's a need for retrospective punishment to deter dangerous play in the M-League.
"There are not many local strikers in the M-League since most teams rely on foreigners to lead their attack.
"It will be tough for us to get a replacement. However, we will not look at foreign players."
M. Kogileswaran Raj, Khyril Muhymeen Zambri, Sunil Chandran and Mahali Jasuli are the other attacking players in the team.
Coach P. Maniam will need to plan accordingly to solve the team's strikeforce problem ahead of tomorrow's match against Penang at the MBPJ Stadium in Kelana Jaya.
Ganesh added Kogileswaran and Sunil are making good progress as attackers but need more experience to succeed.
