City Boys buy Perak duo

Kuala Lumpur City have snapped up Perak winger J. Parthiban and midfielder D. Kenny Palraj in the M-League second transfer window.

KL coach Bojan Hodak believes the duo will play a key role when the season resumes after a two-month break, with nine matches in five weeks.

Parthiban and Kenny are expected to join the City Boys when training resumes on May 23.

Hodak said although the former Perak aces are quality signings, they will have to earn their spots in the KL team.

He said KL are still looking to add quality to their squad, and more new signings could be on the way.

"We have been keeping track of Kenny and Parthiban. We couldn't sign them earlier but the situation has changed. We signed them to improve the team," said the Croatian coach.

"We have players from the Premier League. After 12 matches, some of them managed to adapt but for a few players, the step-up is quite big. At the same time, we need to build up the team for next season.

"We had been operating with only one natural flanker in Hadin (Azman) and having Parthiban on the other flank will now enable our play to be more balanced.

"Kenny will offer more options in midfield. We have Zhafri (Yahya) and Akram (Mahinan) doing well but Kenny's physical presence offers steel in our engine room."
