Perak face more punishment

KUALA LUMPUR: Cash-strapped Perak FC are likely to be punished again.

The Premier League side could be docked six points by the Malaysian Football League (MFL) for failing to meet their due diligence requirements on change of ownership.

It is understood that Perak have not paid the salaries of their players amounting to RM934,729.42 since December last year.

Earlier this month, Perak were already docked three points for failure to settle the salary arrears of their players and team officials.

MFL chief executive officer Stuart Ramalingam said the new owner of Perak FC will have to prove that they will not be a replication of the previous management.

"We are waiting for the documents (from the new owner)... proof of funds," said Stuart.

After three games, Perak have not a single point, after the three points from their sole win over PKNS FC earlier were docked.
