Sarawak United, Melaka appeal decisions due next week

KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak United and Melaka United will have to wait until next week to find out whether their appeals to play next season in the Super League are successful.

Both teams failed to meet club licensing requirements due to financial issues.

Sarawak United have cases with Fifa involving former players Sandro Mendonca and Taylor Regan, while Melaka United failed to submit salary receipts of players to the Malaysian Football League (MFL).

MFL confirmed that both teams submitted their appeals on Wednesday.

"Both appeals will be heard by the appeals board on Oct 28," said MFL chief executive officer Stuart Ramalingam today.

If Sarawak United and Melaka are reinstated, the revamped Super League will have 18 teams next season.
