Inter Milan legend Zanetti to watch JDT-Terengganu game

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Argentina football star Javier Zanetti will be among the fans at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium to watch the Charity Shield between Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) and Terengganu on Feb 24.

The 49-year-old former Inter Milan defender will be a guest of JDT.

Zanetti was the first player to captain an Italian club to a treble: the Scudetto, Coppa Italia and Champions League.

The most capped player (858) in the history of Inter Milan, he had won 16 trophies with the club. He is now Inter vice president.

JDT club owner Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim has again brought another big name to the home of the Southern Tigers for the occasion.

JDT also announced that United Arab Emirates Olympic Committee board member Naser Al Tamimi and renowned football agent Morris Pagniello will be watching the match at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium.

"Aside from visiting the Southern Tigers, this visit will also act as an opportunity for international collaboration with renowned partners from around the world," said the JDT statement.
