Wishing for someone like Ronaldo

KUALA LUMPUR: Perak coach Lim Teong Kim saw his men fire 11 shots at the Cops in a Super League match at the MBPJ Stadium on Tuesday, but all were harmless.

As Perak settled for a zero-zero result, Teong Kim quipped that they may have to go to the market and buy a striker.

"We just needed to put the ball in the net, that's all, we created chances... I don't know.

"We need to look at who's available in the market. Cristiano Ronaldo is in Saudi Arabia so we cannot (get him).., so I don't know."

Well, in case CR7 is available, silver-rich Perak will have to pay a mind boggling £177 million per year (RM955 million) for his service. That is how much the five-time Ballon d'Or winner is reported to be getting from Al Nassr. Since leaving Manchester United for the Saudi Professional League in December, Ronaldo had scored five goals in three league games for Al Nassr.

Well, Teong Kim may consider a much cheaper option, get a bomoh from Indonesia to make the Perak attack more potent.

"We should get an Indonesian shaman," joked the former Bayern Munich youth coach afte the match.

On the serious side, Teong Kim conceded that Perak's poor finishing was the reason why they failed to collect full points. However, he was happy with their performance.

"They couldn't score the goals... that's all. The chances were created and it was up to the individuals to take it,

"I'm disappointed with the result… other than that, the players had given their best in the match."

Nonetheless, he said he was happy to return home with a point. "This was an away game, we were playing at someone's home ground, it's not easy. It's better to get a point instead of losing the three points."

Teong Kim added that he will have more options for the Perak lineup in their next match against Kelantan United in Kota Baru as their suspended players are set to return.
