Kedah make it hard for Kelantan players to get back their money

KUALA LUMPUR: It seems Kelantan footballers won't be able to get back their full pay.

Half of their salaries has been withheld by club owner, Norizam Tukiman, and they will only get it back if they win two matches in a row beginning with today's Super League tie at Darul Aman Stadium. But Kelantan lost 5-0 to Kedah instead.

Norizam is unhappy with his team as Kelantan, who have gone winless in eight games, now languish in 13th place out of 14 teams.

However, the Kelantan players showed little spirit in fighting for their money. They got hit for five with Kedah's goals coming from Manuel Ott (16th minute), Lee Tuck (28th), Manuel Hidalgo (47th), Willian Lira Sousa (61st) and Jonathan Balotelli (89th).

Meanwhile, Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) recorded their 11th consecutive win of the season by whipping Kuching City 4-0 away.

Argentine-Italian forward Fernando Forestieri scored in the fourth and 36th, Bergson Da Silva in the 70th and Juan Muniz in the 73rd.

At Likas Stadium, Sony Norde's stoppage time goal helped Terengganu pull off a 2-2 draw against Sabah.

The Rhinos took the lead in the 28th minute through Telmo Ferreira Castanheira, and they doubled the score nine minutes later through Darren Lok.

However, just before the halftime whistle, Norde was on target for Terengganu, and the Haitian spoiled Sabah's day again with his injury time leveller.

RESULTS

SABAH 2 TERENGGANU 2; KUCHING CITY 0 JDT 4; KEDAH 5 KELANTAN 0
