Adam vows to continue riding

Former Moto3 rider Adam Norrodin admitted that his dream to compete in MotoGP is as good as over but is determined to continue racing in other championships.

Adam, who has been part of Sepang International Circuit's (SIC) rider development programme for much of his career, was not named in SIC's lineup of riders for this year.

The 23-year-old raced as a full season rider in the Moto3 World Championship from 2016-2018 and competed in the Moto2 European Championship from 2019-2021 with SIC's backing.

He enjoyed his best season in the Moto2 European Championship last year, scoring three podium finishes to finish fifth overall but still lacked consistency and was forced to retire from four out of 11 races.

Adam, who is looking to switch to production bike racing, said: "I will not be racing with SIC anymore as I was told last week that there are no slots available for me in the Moto2 European Championship this season," said Adam.

"I guess you can say that my chances of going to MotoGP are over.

"But racing is my career and I have been developing it for a long time, so I still want to continue even if it means I have to race in other championships, perhaps in the World SuperSport Championship or the Asia Road Racing Championships.

"It's a bit late to be looking for seats at the moment as most teams have already finalised their lineups for next year, but I have approached a few teams and am looking to further negotiate with them. Hopefully I can secure a slot."

While riders such former Moto2 rider Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin have made a return to the Malaysian Cub Prix, Adam made it clear that he is not keen on underbone racing.

"I am a bit reluctant to race in Cub Prix because I am not used to that type of racing as I had come up riding bikes such as those used in the Asia Talent Cup (ATC)," added Adam.

"The bikes are completely different and the riding style is also different. I have tried it before but I was not too competitive."
