Kok Chi's daughter, Shen-Nern dies

SIEH Shen-Nern, the daughter of former Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) secretary general Datuk Sieh Kok Chi, who was alleged to be the victim of a property scam, has died.

Shen-Nern, 47, who suffered mental and physical disabilities, is believed to have died in her sleep at her home in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

Kok Chi recently alleged that Shen-Nern's share of a shop lot — jointly purchased with a former national athlete — had been transferred to the latter without their knowledge.

The case is being investigated by the authorities.

"The OCM executive board, executive council and the administration wish to express our sincerest condolences and sympathies to our former long-serving secretary general, Datuk Sieh Kok Chi and his family, on the passing of his beloved daughter, Sieh Shen-Nern," said OCM in a statement.

Shen-Nern was a familiar figure in the Malaysian sporting fraternity, recalled Timesport reporter Jugjet Singh.

"She used to tail Kok Chi everywhere, even overseas to events such as the Sea Games because he did not trust anyone to take care of her (Shen-Nern)," said Jugjet.
