Two Malaysian Commonwealth Games officials test positive for Covid-19

BIRMINGHAM: Malaysia's Commonwealth Games chef de mission (CDM) Datuk Shahrul Zaman Yahya confirmed today that two Malaysian officials tested positive for Covid-19.

"Two Malaysian officials are still in quarantine after testing positive for Covid-19. They will be released once they test negative.

"Overall, everything else is in order," he said here today, but did not provide more details.

Shahrul also declined to comment on the national contingent's attire for tomorrow's opening ceremony.

"There's an embargo on the contingent's attire for the opening ceremony," he added.

The Commonwealth Games opening ceremony is scheduled at 7pm local time tomorrow (2am Friday in Malaysia).
